Hatfield has a long-standing commitment to supporting the global transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy systems. Our work spans the full lifecycle of renewable energy development, from early‑stage feasibility and environmental assessment to long-term monitoring and operational support. With multidisciplinary expertise and a collaborative approach, we help clients navigate complex environmental, regulatory, and social considerations while advancing responsible, resilient, and high‑performing energy projects.
In British Columbia, our proven expertise and comprehensive regulatory knowledge ensure Hatfield is well‑equipped to help projects efficiently navigate the new BC Energy Regulator (BCER) permitting process. We provide tailored approaches to projects in partnership with Indigenous Nations and technical specialists. We are proud to have successfully managed the environmental assessment and permitting for the Meikle Wind Energy Project (179-MW), the largest and most recent wind project constructed in BC, and we continue to support the operation of the Project 10 years later.
Hatfield also delivers environmental assessment, permitting, and monitoring services for energy developments in Indonesia. We are proud to contribute to Indonesia’s clean energy ambitions through the Energy Transition Acceleration Programme (ETAP), an initiative funded by KfW Development Bank to strengthen the country’s shift toward renewable power. Our teams have also supported renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia, working closely with national regulators, multilateral funding agencies, and local communities. Through this work, we bring expertise in innovative technical approaches and practical insights from diverse regulatory systems, equipping clients to mitigate challenges, strengthen environmental performance, and advance projects responsibly and efficiently.
Our key to successful project advancement includes cost effective project management of multi-disciplinary teams, expert regulatory guidance, rigorous scientific data collection, and defensible impact assessments facilitating a streamlined path from assessment to construction and operations. Our expertise is supported with strong GIS and remote sensing and data management.
