Pulp and Paper
Keeping pace with environmental regulations for pulp and paper
Since the 1980s, Hatfield Consultants has assessed and addressed environmental issues related to the pulp-and-paper industry, in Canada, Southeast Asia, and elsewhere. Drawing on decades of experience, our specialists guide our clients through complex regulatory processes, with customized services to meet each site’s specific environmental challenges. We have particular expertise in implementing Environmental Effects Monitoring programs investigating effects of effluent on natural receiving environments. Since the federal Environmental Effects Monitoring program began, we have helped the majority of the pulpmills in Western Canada maintain compliance and keep up with evolving environmental regulations. We have also worked with pulp-and-paper operations throughout Southeast Asia, in Australia, China, and South America, to support their environmental management and monitoring.
