Hatfield Consultants continues to grow, and we’re pleased to introduce the following staff:

Fort McMurray, Alberta:

Benjamin Stevenson – BSc (Hons) Geological Sciences – Water Resource Technician

Benjamin joins our Water Resources team in Fort McMurray. He has a solid hydrogeological background and was most recently working with the University of Calgary as a Hydrogeology and Environmental Geophysics Technician. This involved extensive fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, aquifer characterization, sampling, well installations, near surface groundwater monitoring and studying geysers in which he was responsible for data analysis and maintaining all equipment. Ben has also done stream monitoring, flow tests, and setting up equipment for deep and shallow wells involving installing probes and data loggers. He also had the opportunity to spend time in the field in both Utah and the Northwest Territories while he was obtaining his BSc.

Leon Kennedy – BSc Environmental Engineering – Environmental Specialist

Leon joins our Infrastructure team in Fort McMurray. He recently completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science degree (BSc.) and has a Mining Technology diploma. Leon has almost ten years of environmental work experience in the mining (potash, gold & silver) and pulp mill industries. Leon’s project management experience includes proposals, working with stakeholders, coordinating environmental impact assessments and permit acquisitions, budgeting and appropriating funding, selecting and managing contractors, and reinforcing worksite safety to ensure compliance from development through to execution. Leon has experience conducting aquatic, surface and groundwater sampling, wetland sampling, wildlife management, vegetation control, erosion protection planning, stack testing, and daily tailings monitoring for environmental compliance. He has trained consultants and contractors on site awareness, safety, spill response and waste disposal.

Gaborone, Botswana

Lindiwe Modise – MSc Environmental Management and Security- Environmental Technician

Lindiwe joins our Environmental Management and Assessment team in our Gaborone, Botswana office. She has a diverse educational background in Microbiology and Environmental Management. Her experience includes medical and water microbiological assessments, benthic sampling, habitat assessments, gained during her time in Russia and Botswana. Lindiwe has good technical writing and researching skills, has the ability to organize her time effectively, prioritize tasks, network at local and international levels.

Mosetsanagape Leburu – Geomatics Technician

Following participation in the Hatfield Consultants Africa Geomatics Internship Programme, Mosetsanagape has joined the Geomatics team in our Gaborone office, participating in various topographic data capture projects for government and private sector clients. Mosetsanagape has a BA in Environmental Science and English from the University of Botswana.

North Vancouver, BC:

Nicole Fallon – MSc Environmental Geophysics – Hydrogeologist

Nicole joins our Water Resources team in North Vancouver. She has worked on numerous mining and energy projects in northern BC, northern Alberta and Ontario. She has experience in groundwater monitoring programs, hydrogeological desktop studies, hydrogeology conceptual model development and collecting and interpreting geophysical data (e.g., ground-penetrating radar, seismic, and borehole). Nicole has developed, managed and worked on a number of hydrogeological assessments for large oil and gas projects, for baseline studies and compliance monitoring programs including budgeting, planning, coordinating, and implementing an extensive well baseline program at a remote, fly-in site in Northern BC. As a crew lead, Nicole was responsible for monitoring well development, permeability testing, tidal elevations and long-term water level monitoring, and completing quarterly sampling as part of the baseline requirements. She has experience with geological logging on drill rigs and ensuring suitable monitoring well placement and installation.
