Hatfield Indonesia presents at the 1st Asian Development Bank Green Business Forum for Asia and the Pacific, Manila, Philippines
Feb 01, 2017
The Asian Development Bank recently organized the first Green Business Forum for Asia and the Pacific, with the aim of bringing together experts, business practitioners, and key stakeholders to share knowledge and identify avenues for promoting green business solutions in the region. The two-day event, held from November 22nd to 24th, 2016, in Manila, brought participants together to discuss innovations and lessons from around the region illustrating progress in green growth. A particular focus of the event was on tackling problems such as pollution, natural resources degradation, and loss of biodiversity.
As part of the forum, Hatfield Indonesia staff represented by Lida Pet-Soede, Dias Natasasmita, and Sigit Heru Prasetya, facilitated a session focusing on the Asian Development Bank’s and WWF’s Coral Triangle program. The session was dedicated to discussing investment opportunities in Nature-Based Tourism development in the Coral Triangle region with a focus on marine-related tourism destinations in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.
The session included a keynote address by the CEO of WWF Philippines, Jose Palma, as well as an interactive session on tourism development visions by government representatives of Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands, as well as an exchange of knowledge on requirements and conditions important for public and private finance by experts of the Asian Development Bank.
Hatfield Indonesia continues to support WWF’s Coral Triangle program through an on-going project “Developing and Promoting Sustainable Nature-based Tourism in the Coral Triangle”, an initiative funded by the government of Australia.
