Hatfield continues to grow

It has been another busy recruiting season at Hatfield, and we have added many new faces over the last few months! Seeking out talented and passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds is always a top priority for us, and we are proud of the amazing team we have built over the years – from new starts, all the way to those who have been with Hatfield for over 30 years! We welcome the below individuals to our offices throughout western Canada.

 

Joining our team in Vancouver:

 

Alasdair Lindop, MSc Coast Management, joins Hatfield as Environmental Specialist. Alasdair is a marine specialist with a diverse skill-set focusing on sustainability in fisheries and aquaculture. He has experience in aquaculture innovation, sustainable fisheries development, seafood industry and markets and supply chain traceability. Alasdair joins our marine team within our Infrastructure and Environmental Management Group.

Elisa Tudor, Multimedia Diploma, joins Hatfield as Desktop Publishing Specialist. In 2020, Elisa joined in a part-time capacity, and we are pleased to announce she will be a permanent member of the Desktop Publishing Team moving forward. Elisa has a 20 year career in graphic design, print and desktop publishing. She is used to supporting very large teams with their design and publishing requirements including brochures, magazines, website development, advertising and technical documents.

Laura Ceke, BA Business Administration, joins our Marketing & Business Development Group as Proposal Development Specialist. Laura’s experience includes business strategy and development, proposal preparation, coordination and submission, compliance management, technical writing, and has a strong background in stakeholder communications. Laura will support procurement, business development and proposal writing across all of Hatfield’s business units.

Megan Vaughan, BSc Marine Biology, MSc Zoology, also joins Hatfield’s Infrastructure and Environmental Management Group as Marine Biologist. Megan is a Registered Professional Biologist with over a decade of experience in marine biology and ecology. Megan specializes in environmental assessment, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance for coastal development projects. She has experience supporting a wide variety of marine research projects and field work as a technician, coordinator and leader.

Ryan Schucroft, BA Anthropology and Environmental Studies, joins Hatfield’s Infrastructure and Environmental Management Group as Environmental Technician. With experience working on large- and small-scale infrastructure construction projects throughout western Canada, Ryan’s expertise includes watercourse assessments, advising and managing site erosion and sediment control issues, environmental compliance monitoring, spill response and prevention, water quality sampling, fish salvages and electrofishing.

 

Joining our team in Calgary :

 

Jeff Rempel, MSc Water and Coastal Management, joins Hatfield’s Infrastructure and Environment Management Group . With over 20 years of experience in human and ecological health, as well as conservation and energy efficiency, Jeff has the ability to understand and manage all interconnected parts of a project, including safety, environment, engineering, land, stakeholder engagement, legal, economic impacts, and regulatory processes to inform sustainable development. He has managed many environmental assessments for major projects including biophysical, socio-economic and cultural elements in marine, freshwater and terrestrial environments.

Michael Vander Meulen, PhD Aquatic Ecology, joins our Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Group. With more than 20 years of experience in consulting and research, Michael’s focus has been on monitoring aquatic resources in lakes and rivers with respect to oil sands development, in situ projects, pipelines, municipal and industrial projects, and investigating contaminated sites. Michael also has experience monitoring surface water, porewater, sediments, benthos, plankton, and fish, to assess aquatic productivity and ecosystem function.

 

Joining our team in Fort McMurray:

 

Caitlin Neutzling, BSc Hons Environmental Earth Science, is another addition to our Water Resources Group as Water Resources Technician. Having recently graduated with honours, Caitlin has a solid background in geologic and environmental science including hydrogeology, geochemistry, climate science, geomorphology, geologic structures and ecology. As part of her degree, Caitlin took on a one-year co-op where she conducted weekly surface water sampling, air (dust) sampling, chronic toxicity sampling and collecting field parameters at compliance points.

Emily Pugh, PhD Ecohydrology, joins our Water Resources Group as Water Resources Specialist. Emily has a diverse background in the geosciences, including hydrology, hydrogeology, GIS, aquatic biogeochemistry, wetland science, contaminant hydrology and ecohydrology. As a Permitting Officer and Environmental Compliance Graduate, Emily has experience performing technical duties relating to the investigation of compliance and regulatory issues, as well as environmental assessments to identify environmental effects of various operations on water quality, including construction, fuel storage, mining and nuclear sites.
