Achmad Kosasih is an experienced environmental professional and project leader with more than 35 years’ experience working with various levels of government in Indonesia, non-government organizations, and private sector clients with sustainable development and governance. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Forestry in 1982 and his master’s degree in Natural Resources and Environment Management in 1990 at the Bogor University of Agriculture.
As an example of his recent experience, he was the Deputy Team Leader for the Green Prosperity Project on the Millennium Challenge Account Indonesia from September 2014 to June 2018. In this position, he coordinated the evaluation of renewable energy development and sustainable agriculture grant applications and ensured that cross-cutting issues (e.g. gender, environmental and social accountability) were integrated effectively. In addition to his time at PT Hatfield Indonesia, Kosasih was the Forest and Species Program Director at WWF Indonesia from 2004 until 2010.
During his career, Kosasih has assisted numerous provincial and city governments throughout Indonesia to build capacity in decentralization of natural resources management, industrial wastewater treatment, and water use assessments. He has conducted performance evaluations and developed recommendations for strengthening project performance and policy related to biodiversity, national park management, livelihood development, and sustainable forest.
