Hatfield Consultants are the environmental managers of the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project. This $600million project includes 65 km of road improvements between Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, and Whistler in preparation of the 2010 Winter Olympics. To properly manage the environmental management of this project, Hatfield created a web-based environmental information management system.
Hatfield designed and implemented a web-based environmental information management system that provides a permit tracking system, report and photo tracking, and water quality measurements.
Datasets included in this system include:
- Water Quality;
- Air Quality;
- Archaeology;
- Recreation;
- Fish & Aquatics;
- Vegetation;
- Noise; and
- Wildlife.
Reports available using this system include:
- Monitoring Reports;
- Incident Reports;
- Environmental Management Plans;
- Site Photos; and
- Environmental Design Certificates.
Hatfield created a specialized integrated internet map viewer that ties geographic datasets with all environmental data sets and reports.
This system currently provides access to over 1,100 reports, 1,400 permits, 200 environmental features, and 7,000 water quality measurements.
Members of the S2S Highway Environment Team can access the S2S environmental management system here.
