Featured Projects
Integrated Forest Conservation and Land Rehabilitation
PT Hatfield Indonesia provided technical assistance to a nickel-mining project in Central Halmahera, Indonesia in support of initatives to mitigate the impacts of mining on local biodiversity. Project activities included completing a comprehensive forest flora and fauna inventory, establishing and monitoring permanent forest plots, implementing re-vegetation trials, developing land rehabilitation models, and creating educational materials. more >>
Forest Cover Change Analysis Project
Hatfield Indonesia conducted forest cover change analysis in the Nunukan District of East Kalimantan as part of the Forest Resources Management for Carbon Sequestration (FORMACS) project led by CARE Canada. The FORMACS project was designed to promote sustainable livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, agro-forestry and forest management practices for the maintenance of existing carbon stocks and for the sequestration of atmospheric carbon. more>>
Assessment of Mangrove Communities at PT Freeport Mine
Hatfindo Indonesia conducted research on mangrove species distribution in the PT Freeport contract of work mining area. Permanent monitoring plots were established in areas impacted by tailing depositions and technical guidance was provided regarding mangrove silviculture and reforestation for ecosystems impacted by mining activities. more >>
EO-FORCE
Hatfield is implementing a project funded by the European Space Agency called Earth Observation Services for Forest Carbon Emissions Projects (EO-FORCE). EO-FORCE involves the design of integrated remote-sensing and forestry products and services for land use and forest carbon projects and the implementation and evaluation of trial services for projects in Indonesia. more>>
