Featured Projects

Forest Carbon Project in Sulawesi, Indonesia
Hatfield is providing technical services to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) for a reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) pilot project in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Services provided by Hatfield include current land cover mapping based on analysis of high resolution optical and radar remote sensing data and collection of plot-based carbon stock data. more>>

Integrated Citarum Watershed Resources Management
PT Hatfield Indonesia prepared a Global Environment Facility (GEF) Project Design Document for the biodiversity component of the Asian Development Bank’s Integrated Citarum Watershed Resources Management Investment Program (ICWRMIP). The document was developed through comprehensive biodiversity assessments, GIS and remote sensing analyses, community participation surveys, and institutional and policy surveys. more>>

Mapping of CDM-eligible Degraded Grasslands in Indonesia
PT Hatfield Indonesia assisted the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with the identification of degraded grasslands eligible for afforestation/reforestation (A/R) activities under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in Indonesia. The work involved analysis of satellite imagery (pre-1990 and current) and mapping of key forestry stakeholders such as pulp and paper mills and saw mills. more>>

Agricultural GHG Offsets Verification Using Satellite Imagery
Hatfield is providing remote sensing and GIS expertise to verify conservation tillage practices as part of a Green House Gas (GHG) offset project in Alberta. Hatfield uses high-resolution Ikonos and GeoEye-1 images and medium resolution Landsat images to assess and validate no-till farming and land area claims as part of the verification process for provincially regulated carbon credits. more>>
